    / Less than 3 percent of the nations telephone wires have been ‘replaced’ by fiber optic systems.

    Fiber optic cable is a priority for lines in new areas first, then replacement cables will be run.

    New areas have 99.5% fiber optic cable, and 0.5% telephone wires.
