I think there must be, because I’ve heard of warning systems that can call your house if a tornado was heading to your immediate neighborhood. So, certainly systems like this, that are designed to contact a lot of people in a community very quickly because of an emergency situation, don’t just call one number, then wait for the call to end, then call another. So, I’m thinking that some new technological advancements have been invented that DO allow more than one phone number to be called at exactly the same time. I would guess that it’s something really new, that’s only been around for about three years or so. Am I right that this technology does exist now?

Many vendors are offering Conference calls, in which it is possible to talk to more than one number at a time.

Sure it does. Marketing companies use it all the time. They call a bunch of numbers at once and the first phone to answer is the call that connects. I can think of some of the companies that provide this type of service, but can’t remember their names.
