FivePtsCalvin asked:

I’m researching a good (cost vs quality) small business telephone system. Have any ideas?

The following features are a must:

- Transfer
- Intercom (between phones)
- Intercom (overhead speakers)
- Expandable up to at least 12 extensions (I’d like at least 15)

I’d *like* the following:

- Music on hold
- The ability to see which phones line are being used (or see what extensions are on the phone)
- Speed dial
- Ability to use external flash feature to transfer to outside phones (be able to flash the CO Line)

There’s no requirements on ease of setup– I’ll spend 300 hours if I need to put something good in. My budget is around $1500.

Any suggestions?

press 1 for english
press 2 for spanish

press 1 if you know the extention
press 2 if you do not know the extention
press 3 for a list of the extentions

press 1 for this
press 2 for that

You get the idea.
Well after 30 minutes of pressing buttons you are no closer to finding out anything or any closer to talking to some one, but its a maricle, finally after all this time it says -

press 0 to talk to a opperator

but then you get a recording that says -

all of our opperators are busy press 9 for the main minu
or call back later

at this point you feel like throwing your phone through the wall
I **** this and think that is if a business wants to do business with you they should hire someone to answer the phone

automated phone systems are sappose to save time but they end up waisting your time

how do you feel about that?

Is there a person behind that listens to what you say and presses a button to make an automated voice response or something? How does it work? Especially when you are reciting numbers or saying actual phrases?
